I'm very sorry to learn of Sally's passing. She was always brilliant, but also kind and down to earth. I remember her glorious mane of rich, brown hair. It was easy to recognize the girl I knew in the photo that accompanied her very impressive NY Times obit. I'm not at all surprised to learn of her extraordinary professional accpmplishments. She and I audited an evening programming class at UVa in our Sr. year. A happy memory. But ALL I remember are the words "Algol" and "Cobol." Clearly, Sally had far more aptitude than I.

My heartfelt sympathy to her wife and family, and the AHS freinds who were fortunate to keep in touch.

Sally was a good friend.  I last saw her in 1980 when she came to Ann Arbor for her brother's wedding.  I heard she was sick, sorry to hear of her passing.  Condolence to her wife and family.
