Scott R. Houchens - Class Of 1996

Scott was a graduate of Albemarle County High School and Piedmont Virginia Community College. He received a Bachelor of Arts from Virginia Commonwealth University. He was working as a tutor in a program that was being held on the Virginia Commonwealth University campus. Scott's love for Drama allowed him to take some interesting roles.

Scott Randolph Houchens

Scott Randolph Houchens, 32, of Richmond, passed away suddenly at his home on Friday, March 12, 2010.

Scott was a graduate of Albemarle County High School and Piedmont Virginia Community College. He received a Bachelor of Arts from Virginia Commonwealth University. He was working as a tutor in a program that was being held on the Virginia Commonwealth University campus. Scott's love for Drama allowed him to take some interesting roles.

Scott gave his life to Jesus at age five. He was a member of Slate Hill Baptist Church, enjoyed attending other faith services, and served as the Children's Church Leader for several years.

Scott leaves to honor his memory, his parents, Michael and Ruth Houchens; beloved aunt, Annie Houchens; grandmothers, Nellie Houchens of Charlottesville and Nelda Spaur of Gordonsville; a number of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends; and his good friend and roommate, Trer Utz.

A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday March 17, 2010, at the Slate Hill Baptist Church with the Reverend Rhon Williams and Doctor John Chandler officiating. Interment will be private.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the Love a Child Inc., P.O. Box 30744, Tampa, Florida 33630 or a charity of choice.
