Tameika S. Grady (Hernandez) - Class Of 1995

Tameika Sheree Grady-Hernandez, 41, of Charlottesville, Va., departed her earthly life at the University of Virginia Medical Center surrounded by her family on Wednesday, November 21, 2018.

She was born on February 20, 1977, in Charlottesville, Va., to Charles E. Grady and Antionette Hill.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Tom Green and Mary L. Hill Jefferson; paternal grandparents, Oscar and Louise Churchman; paternal grandfather, Charles Ragland; two aunts, Ava Marie Counts-Williams and Sandra Faye Hill-Bierwert; and one uncle, Antonie "Tony" Hill.

She was a graduate of Albemarle High School. Tameika served her country as a Specialist E4 in the U.S. Army and was active from 1997 until 2002, working as a Motor Transport Operator and an Administrative Clerk. After returning to Charlottesville she was employed as a Unit Coordinator of Cashiering with the University Physicians group where she worked from 2008 until her untimely passing.

Tameika loved and lived life to the fullest. She enjoyed traveling, shopping, wine tasting, and eating tacos, but most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends. She touched a lot of hearts with genuine love and was loved by those she touched. Her beautiful eyes, infectious smile and crazy laugh will be truly missed.

She leaves to cherish her memory a loving and devoted daughter, Savion Mia Grady; her parents, Charles E. Grady and Antionette Hill; devoted friend, Francisco "Chico" Hernandez; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 1, 2018, at Covenant Church, 1025 Rio Road E., Charlottesville, Va., with the Reverend Carol Brooks officiating and the Reverend Carolyn Mitchell Dillard delivering the eulogy. Interment will follow at Holly Memorial Cemetery. Her remains will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the services.
