Kevin Sean Kelly - Class Of 1986

Kevin Sean Kelly, 52, departed this life peacefully on Tuesday, August 21, 2018, at the University of Virginia Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.

Born April 19, 1966 in Huntington, West Virginia, he was the son of Richard “Tuck” Kelly and Cynthia Brown Kelly. Kevin was a 1986 graduate of Albemarle High School. He attended classes at Piedmont Virginia Community College and worked in tech support. His last position was with Office Depot. Kevin passed away after a long, brave battle with numerous health issues, and his strength in the face of these adversities was unparalleled.

He was preceded in death by his father and is survived by his devoted mother, Cynthia Kelly; his sister, Crystal Shrum (Billy) of Lancaster, Pa.; niece, Molly Shrum of Pittsburgh, Pa., and nephew, Ben Shrum of Philadelphia, Pa.; special cousins Patsy Cherry of Christiansburg, Va., and Sheila Carter of Proctorville, Ohio; and the love of his life, his calico cat, Lily.

Family and friends whose lives Kevin has touched are invited to a Celebration of Life Service at 11a.m. Thursday, August 23, 2018 at Hill & Wood Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Smith presiding. The family will receive friends from 10a.m. to 11a.m. At Kevin’s request he will be buried at Enon Cemetery, Salt Rock, W.Va., next to his grandparents, Lonnie and Hazel Brown.

Deborah Jeanne Moomaw (1986)

I remember Kevin. I was in one class with him. He was always real nice to me. I saw him in summer 1999 at a steakhouse, and we said "hi".
