James Douglas Crenshaw - Class Of 1982

James Douglas Crenshaw, 54, passed away on Saturday, May 25, 2019, at Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville, Virginia, as a result of a short illness, with his family present.

Born at the Martha Jefferson Hospital on August 19, 1964, he was the son of the late James Edward Crenshaw and his surviving mother, Thelma Critzer Crenshaw. He is also survived by his daughter, Danielle N. Crenshaw; granddaughter, Chloe M. Johnston; special uncle, John W. Critzer; his cousin but more like a brother, Richard "Mark" Charron; longtime friend, Lisa Anderson, and aunts, uncles, many cousins and friends.

He graduated from Albemarle High school in 1982 and attended East Tennessee State University. After which he returned to work in the family business at Crenshaw Auto Repair, Northside Golf and Carwash, and Transportation Rental for his entire career.

Doug was a member of Laurel Hill Baptist Church on Airport Rd since 1972. He was also a member of the Charlottesville Elks Lodge, BPOE 389 on Elk Dr for the last 33 years. After working with the public for so many years and as an avid UVA sports fan, Doug met many people, made many friends and never met a stranger. He will be greatly missed by all.

Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. on Thursday May 30, 2019, at Hill and Wood Funeral Home. A graveside service will be at Holly Memorial Gardens at 12:30 p.m. on Friday May 31, 2019, officiated by the Reverend Larry Wingfield of Rivanna Baptist Church.
