Donna J. BowlesDonna J Bowles of Richmond, Va., passed away Saturday, October 17, 2015, at the age of 52, with her family by her side.

She was born in Charlottesville, on December 31, 1962, the daughter of Susie Bowles and George Gardner.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Edgar T Grady, and James and Gillie Gardner.

Donna was a graduate of Albemarle High School in 1981. She continued her education at Virginia Union University graduating with a Bachelor's Degree. She worked for Virginia Blood Services in Richmond, VA for 14 years.

In addition to her parents, she was survived by her sister, Lisa Bowles of Charlottesville; a niece, Cindora Bowles of Charlottesville; maternal grandmother, Letitia Gardner and her husband, Robert Gardner of Cismont; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Funeral Services will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, October 24, 2015, at Zion Hill Baptist Church, 1133 Zion Hill Road, Keswick, Va. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.The family will receive friends at the church one hour before the services.

The family would like to thank everyone at UVA, Emily Couric Cancer Center and Hospice of the Piedmont for their assistance in the fight.
