This posting was written by and is being made at the request of Fiona Marissa who is from Australia.

I have created a painting that was inspired by the tragedy. I am from Australia and was living in C'ville at the time during my studies as a graduate student at UVA. I've thought on and off for years about the tragedy I heard about but it wasn't until recently I decided to look up the information about what actually happened and who the tourist was. I am sorry to hear of such a bright and engaging person being lost to us too early. Thanks, Fiona Marissa. If you are interested in viewing the painting, you may see it on my personal FB album here: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=4835920450774&l=b38e5d6471.

King's Cascade Dreaming
Where Australia, nature, human nature and Charlottesville connected on the morning of Sunday, March 29, 1987. I was living in Charlottesville, Virginia, and remember where I was and what I was doing when I heard the of the news of the demise of a tourist (a young woman from Charlottesville) who went swimming in known crocodile inhabited waters.
