In Memory

Patricia (Patti) Hawkes (Walton) - Class Of 1978

Patti Walton departed this life and passed into her Heavenly home on September 3, 2018, following a lengthy battle with cancer.

She is survived by her husband of 32 years, the love of her life, Paul Walton; son, Chris; daughter, Amanda Lambert; two sisters, Judy Forman and Ann Walker; seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild, five nieces and nephews; and special friends, Ed and Judy Shepard.

Born the youngest of three sisters in Bridgeport, Conn., on March 16, 1960, Patti lived in Virginia for most of her life, graduating from Albemarle High School.

While she held a variety of jobs over her lifetime, Patti focused her career in Human Resources where she made a true difference in the lives of all those she touched. Patti lived out her faith in her final position at CFA Institute, going above and beyond to ensure employees were well taken care of.

Patti loved her church family at Northside Baptist and cherished singing in the choir, especially as part of the Easter and Christmas productions. She was always game for a good jigsaw puzzle. More than most anything else, she treasured her semi-annual trips to Kure Beach in North Carolina with Paul, Ed and Judy.

A celebration of Patti's life will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Northside Baptist Church, 1325 Rio Road East, Charlottesville. A meal will follow in the fellowship hall.

In keeping with her final wishes, Patti's body has been donated to the Virginia State Anatomical Program for study and research in medical science.

Donations may be made to the church in lieu of flowers.
