Bernard Coulter Farish Jr., 51, passed away on Monday, October 25, 2010 in a local hospital.

He was born on September 10, 1959, in Charlottesville, the son of Bernard Coulter Farish Sr. and Betty Collins Farish.

He was a graduate of Albemarle High School and worked for facilities management at the University of Virginia. He was a good dad and husband who would always make you smile. Bernard enjoyed farming and his grandchildren were his pride and joy.

Other survivors include his wife of 32 years, Rebecca Farish; his children, Bernard C. Farish III and his wife, Jennifer Dinsmore, Kenneth Wayne Farish and Jasmine Harrell; six grandchildren, DeAndre, Sierra, Kaylie, Mia, Jordan and Kayden; four sisters, Teresa Farish and her husband, David, Pamela Sacre and her husband, Ronnie, Sonya Weathersbee and her husband, Barry, and Glenda Kirby and her husband, Dale; and numerous nieces and nephews. Last but not least, he will be missed by his dog, Rauss.

The family extends special thanks to the Doctors at The Hope Center and to the Nursing Staff of the 7th Floor of Martha Jefferson Hospital for all their kind consideration.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, October 29, 2010, at the Hill and Wood Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend John Austin officiating. Interment will follow at Monticello Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday, October 28, 2010, at the funeral home.
