In Memory

Mary Anne Maupin (Ford) - Class Of 1977

Mary Anne Maupin Ford of Ivy, Virginia, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 17, 2018, at the age of 59.

Anne was born in Albemarle County on January 13, 1959, to the late William "Bill" and Bessie (Mayo) Maupin; she was the fourth of nine children.

She graduated from Albemarle High School (Class of 1977) and obtained her Bachelor of Science from ITT Tech. She went on to work as a senior IT analysis for the County of Albemarle for over ten years, retiring in 2016. Known for her hats, jewelry, and bright smile, Anne was a member of First Baptist Church, where she served as the president of the Missionary Ministry.

Anne leaves to cherish her memory her three sons, Keith Antonio, II, Thomas Kendall (Pam), and Mitchell Isaiah. She also leaves behind one grandson, Tyson Kendall. She is survived by her eight siblings, William "Billy" Maupin, Bessie Jackson, Vernon Maupin (Dale), Addison Maupin, Ada Cobbs (Vernon), Ida Leak (Michael), Charlene Baldwin (Diana), and Darlene Maupin.

Anne loved orchids, the Blue Ridge Mountains, and home DIY projects (sometimes with the help of her three sons). Anyone who knew her, knew how proud she was of her children and grandson.

She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, her aunt Beatrice Mayo, and a vast number of good friends, to include Robin Ford, whom she considered a sister, and Keith "KeeKee" Ford, her friend and former husband.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 24, 2018, at Covenant Church, 1025 Rio Road E, Charlottesville, Virginia.

J.F. Bell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
