Theresa Anastasia Mitchell, 53, of Greenville, SC passed away on Friday, December 28th, 2012, after an 8 month battle with cancer. She was born in Philadelphia, PA on June 19, 1959, to the late James Joseph Hearne and Lucille Lawson Hearne of Charlottesville, Virginia.

Theresa was a member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Simpsonville, SC. She was a Special Project Coordinator for the Safe Kids Foundation of the Upstate in South Carolina where she worked as a child advocate who was responsible for fundraising and developing programs to protect children and their families.

Theresa leaves behind her husband, Charles W. Mitchell of Greenville, SC, her daughter Nora Owens and son in law, Aaron Owens of Occoquan, VA, her son, Adam Hussein of Greenville, SC, three stepchildren, Matt Mitchell, Dan Mitchell and Katie Mitchell of Manchester, Iowa, her sister and brother in law, Jim and Maria May of Springfield, VA, her brother James Hearne of Lynchburg, VA, her aunt Maxene Patterson of Earlysville, VA, 3 nieces and 3 nephews, and many cousins and friends who have been touched by her selfless love and devotion.

A viewing will be held on Thursday January 3rd, 2013, at 11:00am at Church of the Incarnation in Charlottesville, VA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:15pm. A private family internment will follow at Mitchell-Davis Cemetery in Stanardsville, Virginia.
