Karl Alan "Kingfish" Davis

Karl Alan "Kingfish" Davis, husband of Carrie Davis, left this world to be with God on Thursday, November 13, 2008, at the age of 50.

Born September 28, 1958, he was the son of John H. Davis and the late Claudia Retha Davis. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a brother, Gregory K. Morris.

He is survived by a brother, Roger D. Morris and his, wife, Linda of Charlottesville, Virg-inia; two stepdaughters, Sarah Goode and her husband, Greg, of Charlottesville and Grace Rickenberg and her husband, Chad, of Japan; one stepson, Jesse Gibson and his wife, Meaghan, of Charlottesville; a sister-in-law, Brenda Morris of Charlottesville, Virginia; two aunts, Rachel Wells and Lila Sandridge of Charlottesville, Virginia; two nephews, James E. Morris and his wife, Court-ney, of Roanoke, Virginia, Char-les H. Morris and his wife, Jamie, of Waynesboro, Virg-inia; two nieces, Vonnie Payne and her husband, Jason, of Charlottesville, Virginia, and Kathey Morris and Daniel Fletcher of Charlottesville, Virginia, and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was an employer/ super-visor of the Virginia Depart-ment of Transportation for 31 years and was loved by all who knew him.

A special thanks to all of Karl's co-workers at the Virginia Department of Transportation, including Kenny Roach and also to his other friends for being there for the family during this difficult time.

A memorial service will be conducted at 4 p.m. Saturday, November 22, 2008, at South-side Church of God, 1807 Avon Street Ext., Charlottesville, Virginia.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
