Denise Darcell Carr (Morton) - Class Of 1977

  Denise Carr Morton was born on November 5, 1958, to Eugene and Cleo Carr in Charlottesville, VA.

She was the third oldest of six children. She graduated from Albemarle High School in Charlottesville, VA, and went on to attend a two year vocational school to become a medical assistant. She moved to Alexandria in 1977, to marry Avery Morton. Denise secured a job with Group Health Association and Kaiser Permanente in which she worked there for over 15 years. She then went on to open her own business of Dee's Christian Daycare for 11 years. Denise served in the ministry for numerous of years and became ordained as a Deaconess, one of the head intercessors, new member's class teacher and the head of the Nursing Home Ministry. She was devoted and committed to the things of God.

On the morning of Wednesday, November 20, 2013, Denise went home to be with the Lord.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Kent.

She leaves behind many who loved and adored her. Her husband, Avery; her children, Kimani (Betty), LaToya, Kendrick, and Jeremiah; her grandchildren, Taylor, Kiersten and Kimani Jr.; her father, Eugene and her mother, Cleo; her mother-in- law, Henrietta; her brother-in-law, Ray (Sharon); her siblings, Dorothy (Pastor Dana), Kent (deceased), David, Eugene Jr., and Theodore (Delores); her nephew, Atiba (Tamara); her niece, Patrice; and a host of additional nephews, nieces, aunts and uncles. She also leaves behind her extended church family at Double Portion Spirit Ministries whom she loved dearly. She was aspiring to become a church Elder in which we know she is now an Elder in Heaven.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, November 30, 2013, at the Double Portion Spirit Ministries, Int'l. located at 4092 Merchants Plaza, Ste. 300, Woodbridge, VA 22192, with a viewing one hour prior to services.
