Samuel Patteson Clarke (1966)

Russell Stuart Payne of Phoenix, Arizona, died Friday, July 19, 2008, at his home.

Russell was born August 11, 1958, in Richmond, Virginia.  He was a graduate of Albemarle High School, and received a Bachelor's of Science degree from Virginia Tech, where he was a member of Tau Delta Fraternity.  He was formerly employed by Rogers Corporation.

Survivors include his parents, Mary Frances and Carson Payne of Charlottesville; a sister, Karen Payne Carlin and her husband, John, of Rochester, New York; two brothers, Neal Payne of Raleigh, North Carolina and Mark Payne and his wife, Ruth, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; and six nieces and nephews.

Interment will be 3 p.m. Friday, August 15, 2008, at Holly Memorial Gardens on Rt. 29 N.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 16, 2008, at Broadus Memorial Baptist Church, 1525 Stoney Point Road, in Charlottesville, Virginia, with the Reverend Margarete Gillette and the Reverend Robert Wheeler officiating.
