In Memory

Doris Anne Moore - Class Of 1976

Doris Anne Moore, our loving daughter, sister, aunt, and friend departed this life suddenly Monday evening, July 23, 2007.

She was born December 22, 1957, at the University of Virginia Medical Center to Frances Anne Moore and was predeceased by her father, Ray Allen Moore Sr.; and a nephew, Brian Ray Spradlin.

She was a graduate of Albemarle High School in 1976 and held many positions in her job force - notably working for The Daily Progress as a District Manager before her illness. She battled breast cancer twice, with the first diagnosis at age 39. Most recently, she learned it had returned and she battled it with bravery and dignity.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by four loving sisters, who stood beside her every step of the way. They are Linda Sprouse and her sons, D.J. and his wife, Heather, and Travis; Sharon Moore and her sons, Chris and Kevin; Barbara Moore and her daughter, Kristin Anne, along with her fiance Jimmy Harris; Denise Spradlin and her husband, Earl; two brothers, Ray Allen Moore Jr. and his partner, Vickie and his son, Shawn Ray; Gary Moore and his wife, Brenda. We want to acknowledge a special great -niece, "Kaelie", that she held close in her heart; several other great-nephews and great-nieces, Cory, Madison and Ciara Sprouse, Wyatt Spradlin, C.J., Britni and Sean Moore; and her family pet, "Tinkerbell".

The family will receive friends from 7 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 25, 2007, at Thacker Brothers Funeral Home in Scottsville.

A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, July 26, 2007, at the Scottsville Cemetery with the Reverend James C. Jetton officiating.

Any monetary donations may be made to the Scottsville Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 550, Scottsville, VA 24590; or to ones favorite charity.
