Roger Lee Gray - Class Of 1976


Roger Lee Gray, 56, formerly of Greenwood, passed away on Wednesday, February 6, 2013, at Golden Living in Buena Vista, Virginia.

He was born on February 21, 1956, in Albemarle County, a son of the late Stuart V. Gray and Myrtle R. Craig. He was preceded in death by one brother, Walter Stuart Gray; and brother-in-law, Rick White.

He is survived by three brothers, Kenneth Gray and his wife, Linda, of Greenwood, Robert Gray of Greenwood, Virginia, Dennis Gray of Afton, Virginia; five sisters, Lillian "Sis" Gray of Afton, Annie Williams and husband, Norman, of Barboursville, Jane Wells and husband, Roger, of Afton, Brenda Gray White of Crozet, Teresa Goode and husband, Hunter, of Afton; numerous nieces and nephews; and former wife, Melissa Gray of Waynesboro, Virginia.

He worked at Charlottesville Post Office, was a bus driver for Albemarle County Schools, and loved farming until he became ill in the last few years.

The family would like to thank the Golden Living of Buena Vista, Virginia, for their care for the past year.

The family wll receive friends at the Anderson Funeral Home in Crozet from 6 until 8 p.m. on Friday, February 8. 2013.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 9, 2013, at Hebron Baptist Church in Afton, Virginia. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. Pastor Whitney Critzer and Pastor Danny McAllister will be officiating. Anderson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
