Mary Jane Gentry - Class Of 1976

Mary Jane Gentry CROZET - Mary Jane Gentry, 47, of Crozet, died at a local nursing home on Thursday (May 26, 2005).

She was born in Albemarle County, a daughter of Addie Jane Gentry Milton of Crozet, and the late Walter Newton Gentry. She was also preceded in death by her stepfather, Harold Moore Milton.

She is survived by her husband, William Preston Gentry of Crozet; one daughter, Ashley Parke Gentry of Crozet; one brother, William Walter Gentry and wife, Lisa, of Mechanicsville; and two nephews, Brandon and Joe Gentry of Mechanicsville.

Mary Jane was a clinical director for the University of Virginia Hospital Renal Dialysis Center and a charter member of the Western Albemarle Rescue Squad, Crozet Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, and Charlottesville ALS support group.

She graduated from Piedmont College with a RN degree and Business Administration degree.

The family would like to extend a sincere thanks to all the friends and staff at the Laurels of Charlottesville for their love, support and fellowship as we traveled down this road together.

The family will receive friends at the Anderson Funeral Home today (May 28, 2005) from 7-9 p.m.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday (May 29, 2005) at 4 p.m. at the Crozet Baptist Church with Dr. Roy S. Thomas III and the Rev. David Collyer officiating.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Dr. James P. Bennett Jr., Research, P.O. Box 800394, University of Virginia School of Medicine, Charlottesville, Va., 22908.

Anderson Funeral Home of Crozet is in charge of arrangements.

Post a Comment:  I grew up with Mary Jane since 1st grade. We attended each other's birthday parties and rode bikes together and just "hung out" and had fun. I think she was about 47 when she passed as a result of Lou Gehrig's Disease.
