Virginia Rose Clark - Class Of 1976

Virginia Rose Clark, 54, lost her courageous six--month hospitalization battle with pancreatitis and passed away on Wednesday, July 4, 2012, at the University of Virginia Medical Center. She was born on February 8, 1958, a daughter of the late Frances Clark Fix and Hugh Nelson Clark Jr.

She is survived by her sisters, Carolyn Clark Durham, Connie Clark Abell and her husband, Jim, and Cathy Clark Ward; her brother, Hugh Nelson "Buddy" Clark III and his wife, Gail; nieces, Amy Abell Farina, Jennifer Rose Ward and Hope Clark Farrar; nephews, Troy Ronald Durham, James Clark Abell, and Joseph Hunter Clark; four great- nephews, Jack and Luke Farina, and Tucker and Patrick Durham; two great- nieces, Lucy and Eleanor Abell; the great Farrar twins due in October; and a special friend, Sharon Robertson.

A graduate of Albemarle High School, she loved coaching and playing softball. She was a member of Mount Moriah United Methodist Church in White Hall. One would never be unhappy in her presence as her sense of humor and giving heart touched all of us. If she knew your favorite food, it would be personally delivered. Her writing talents never ceased to amaze those who received cards and notes on a weekly basis. Her love of animals, especially her beloved Dobermans, was evident throughout her life.

The family extends sincere thanks to the ICU teams at the Martha Jefferson Hospital and University of Virginia Medical Center, for all of their care and love given to our sister. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made in Rose's name to the CASPCA, P.O. Box 7047, Charlottesville, VA 22906. Rose once wrote to her siblings, "you are the only creatures on earth who share your heritage, history, environment, bone structure and DNA." The chain of five is broken but the bond is forever attached; she will be greatly missed. Friends may send condolences to the family at www.hillandwood.com.
