Steven Michael Brown passed away on Monday, May 2, 2016, at his home in Crozet at the age of 58. He was born in Charlottesville, Va. on April 6, 1958.

He is preceded in death by his father, James Frederick Brown, Sr.; and his brother, James Frederick Brown, Jr.

He is survived by his mother Lucille Brown; a brother, William Brown; and his son, Christopher Brown and his wife, Susan. He also leaves behind his two grandchildren, Madison and Jack, all of Crozet.

Steve was a graduate of Albemarle High School and of the University of Virginia's School of Commerce. He worked in finances at Specialty Blades of Staunton and Verona. For several years he worked with the Lyme Kiln Theater in Lexington, which he enjoyed very much. Steve was a quiet and gentle person who loved nature, camping and the outdoors. Steve will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

A private memorial service will be held on 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2016, at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Albert Connette officiating.

Family suggest that memorial gifts may be sent to the National Park Service that would continue his love of nature.
