David L. Spradlin

David Lee "Dave" Spradlin, 55, of Albemarle County, passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2011, at his home. He was born on September 5, 1956, in Charlottesville, the son of Wilma H. Spradlin and the late Raymond L. Spradlin. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Teddy J. Spradlin. In addition to his mother, survivors include a son, Mikie Spradlin and wife, Lisa, and their children, Landon and Madison; a daughter, Leigh Anne "Bitsy" Adcock and husband, Todd and their daughter, Parker; the mother of his children, Jean Spradlin; his siblings, Liz S. Farmer and husband, Steve, Eddie Ray Spradlin and wife, Penny, Anne Breeden and husband, Melvin, and Tracy Seale and Edy Bug Shiflett; a number of nieces and nephews; a loving companion, Kathy Ann Hughes and her children, Chrissy, Tommy, and grandson, Little Thomas; and his dogs, Nubbie and Trooper.

Dave was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and riding horses with his family and friends. He was always willing to go the extra mile to lend a helping hand. He usually began his day at the local "hangout", the 620 Market where he had lots of stories to share that often provided folks with a unique nickname.

The family will receive friends at the Lake Christian Church at Lake Monticello from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday, December 15, 2011. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, December 16, 2011, at The Lake Christian Church with Pastor Randy Golladay officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Piedmont, 675 Peter Jefferson Parkway, Suite 300, Charlottesville, VA 22911 or to the Lake Christian Church, 733 South Boston Road, Palmyra, VA 22963.
