Alice Ray Painter (Moore) - Class Of 1965

Alice P. Moore passed away in Klamath Falls on Thursday, Nov. 27, 2008. She was 63.

A twilight celebration of Alice's life will be held on Monday, Dec. 1, 2008, at 6 p.m. in the family chapel at Eternal Hills. Chaplain Craig Kroeker will officiate. Cremation will be at Eternal Hills Crematory.

Alice was born April 1, 1945, in Staunton, Va., to Raymond and Hazel (Cash) Painter. She grew up in Virginia and, following high school, attended two years of nurses training and received her LPN license. Alice worked in hospitals and private practices for more than 30 years - the last 10 years of her career were spent in the operating room of the University of Virginia Medical Center.

She met John Moore on a blind date in 1965. The couple courted for seven months before being married in Waynesboro, Va., on Nov. 4, 1965. They moved to Klamath Falls five months ago.

Alice enjoyed fishing and gardening. She was very loving and protective of her family and was known by some as an "angel of mercy." She will be missed dearly.

Survivors include her husband of 43 years, John Moore of Klamath Falls; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Rebecca Moore of Klamath Falls; grandsons, Wyatt and Trevor; brother, Charles Painter of Waynesboro, Va.; sisters, Helen Mooneyhan of Fishersville, Va., Agnes Critzer and her husband, Roger, of Jacksonville, Florida, Betty Critzer and her husband, Bobby, of Crozet, Va., Patsy Rea and her husband, Jim, of Crozet, Va, Barbara Dollens and her husband, Dicky, of Crozet, Va., Marylee Atkins and her husband, David, and Ruth Cragg, all of Charlottesville, Va.; nieces and nephews, Mark, Karen, Kathy, Timmy, Arthur, Moorston, Vickie, Michael, Greg, Ronnie, Bryan, Richard, Billy, James, Markwood, Charles, Todd, Paul and Laura.

She was preceded in death by a niece, Susan.
