Raymond Harmon Hite - Class Of 1965

Raymond Harmon Hite, 57, of Crozet, died on Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2005, at a local hospital.  He was born June 21, 1947, in Charlottesville.  He was the son of the late Emmett Hite, Sr. and Ruby Currier Hite.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Hazel E. Hite, Dorothy H. Herman, and Barbara H. Reid.

He is survived by one sister, Joan H. Grissinger of Crozet; one brother, Emmett Hite, Jr. of Crozet; two uncles, John A. Currier of Scottsville and William M. (Bill) Currier of Charlottesville; and several nieces and nephews.

Ray was a graduate of Albemarle High School and a 1970 graduate of East Tennessee State University with a B.S. degree in Business Administration.  He taught Business Accounting for several years at Albemarle High School and at the National Business College in Charlottesville.

The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the doctors and nurses at UVa Medical Center, and the Palliative Care Unit for their concern and care given to Ray and his family.  Also, a special thanks to Beth Ann Patterson for all her care and visits.

The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to your favorite charity.

A private graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 20, 2005, at the Rockgate Cemetery in Crozet.

Anderson Funeral Home of Crozet is in charge of arrangements.
