Stan Maupin (1967)
Posted by Ed Herring ( '64 )
I am saddened to learn of Mike's death.
I have many fond memories of our times @ AHS, football & track & field teams.
He was a wonderful teammate -- team first -- hard worker, gave his all every day.
AND -- supremely talented as a middle distance runner -- ran on 3 straight State Championship teams -- tremendous contributor to the successes of AHS.
I send condolences to his family and friends.

Sorry to be reading this. Lots to remember about my football teammate #80; talent and hard work. My prayers are with Mike and his family.

My condolences to Mike's family and friends! Mike was an outstanding member of our 3 state championship track teams. I could count Mike's points because I knew he would do what he had to do to win because he was that kind of competitor. Tough laid back guy with unbelievable talent. Everyone loved Mike!

Thoughts and prayers to Mike's family. Mike was on the track team at Albemarle HS when I was a senior
(class of 1960); he was an 8th grader, but even then, I could tell he had potential. Read about his success later.
