Betty Lee Shifflett (Cromer) - Class Of 1964

Betty Lee Cromer, 57, of Charlottesville, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 29, 2003, at her home.

Born April 22, 1946, in Albemarle County, she was the daughter of Mamie Hunt Shifflett and the late Thomas C. Shifflett. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Gentry.

Betty was a surgical nurse at Virginia Ambulatory Surgical Center. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church for many years and sang in the church choir. She was devoted to her church family and friends and loved them all.

She is survived by her two daughters, Allison Cromer and Beverley Cromer and their father, Leon H. Cromer; one granddaughter, the "love of her life", Devin Brooke Morris; two sisters, Judy Terry and her husband, Lloyd of Monroe, Ga., and Linda S. Tomlin of Charlottesville; a brothers, Thomas C. Shifflett, Jr. and his wife, Alice of Hyattsville, Md.; a very special friend, Kay Sclater; and a very special sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Bonnie and John Tyler. Betty will be missed by all who knew her.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday evening at the Teague Funeral Home. A memorial service will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday at the Calvary Baptist Church with Reverend Rick Sadler officiating.
