Samuel Patteson Clarke (1966)
Arlene Faye Marsh Eskey, 65, who worked for 39 years with Sprint, died December 7, 2010, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital.
Arlene courageously fought lung cancer.
Arlene and her husband, Butch, resided in Harrisonburg. She was an avid outdoors person who loved picnicking on the Blue Ridge Parkway and long walks. She lived life to the fullest along the side of her beloved Butch.
Arlene was a loving caring wife, sister, and a true and devoted friend to many. She was especially devoted to the many four legged friends she had.
She was born in Charlottesville, a daughter of the late Fannie Hawley Marsh and Octavis M. Marsh.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 45 years, Harold "Butch" C. Eskey Jr.; her motherin-law, Beulah Chester; sister, Frances Staton and her husband, John; brother-in-law, Steve Parrish and his wife, Ruby; brother, Cleveland Henry Marsh and his wife, Sharon; special aunt, Evelyn Sodaman; and many loving nephews, nieces, numerous cousins, family and friends.
In keeping with Arlene's wishes, she will be cremated.
A memorial service will be held 1:30 p.m. Saturday, January 1, 2011, at Saint Luke's Episcopal Church, Simeon, Route 53, Charlottesville, with the Reverend Gloria Berberich officiating.
Those wishing to honor and remember Arlene may do so by making a donation to Rockingham Memorial Hospital Hahn Cancer Center, 2008 Health Campus Drive, Harrisonburg, VA 22801, Bridgewater Retirement Community, 302 North Second Street, Bridgewater, VA 22812, your local chapter of the SPCA or a local Hospice Unit.
