Donald Kennedy Obituary

Donald Lynn Kennedy, 72, of Covesville, passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at Hunter Holmes McGuire VA Medical Center in Richmond with his family by his side.

Born on August 14, 1944, in Charlottesville, he was a son of the late Leonard L. and Frances M. Kennedy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Matthew Dustin Kennedy.

Left to honor his memory include his sons, Jason Kennedy and his wife, Jenny and Christopher Kennedy; brother, Chuck Kennedy and his wife, Becky; his grandchildren, Reese, Cooper, and Sawyer; and his three nieces. He will also be missed by his beloved cat, Boots.

Donald served in the United StatesNavy from 1966 to 1970 including three tours in Vietnam aboard DD877 USS Perkins Destroyer.

Donald was a professional salesman having worked for JW Sieg Distributor, Jim Price Chevrolet, and Clayton Homes. He was a tremendous Dale Earnhardt Sr. fan. Donald enjoyed deer hunting with his sons.

Donald will be sorely missed by his family and dear friends, which are too many to mention.

A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 31, 2017, at Crozet United Methodist Church with Pastor Sarah Evacho officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens with military honors.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 30, 2017, at the church.
