Vickie Hobson (Elliott) - Class Of 1964

Mrs. Vickie H. Elliott, age 67, of Blountville, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, July 5, 2014.  

Mrs. Elliott was born on July 7, 1946, in Charlottesville, Virginia, the daughter of the late Nicklous and Irene Marshall Hobson.  

She was a devoted Navy wife to Captain Robert M. Elliott, USNR (retired) and enjoyed traveling with her husband and gardening.  Mrs. Elliott served with the American Red Cross for over 20 years in Kingsport, teaching many police officers, and other first responders "first aid" skills.  In addition, Mrs. Elliott enjoyed being a Girl Scout Leader and was a key member of the Kingsport Times News Christmas Rescue Fund along with volunteering with Meals on Wheels.

 Since her high school graduation in 1964, Mrs. Elliott has served as the class secretary and has sent holiday cards to all of her classmates over the past 49 years and was a faithful member of the Bridwell Heights Presbyterian Church PCA.

 Survivors include her devoted husband, Captain Robert M. "Bob" Elliott, USNR, (retired); one brother, Mr. Gene N. Hobson; one sister, Mrs. Judy Bain; and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

 The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 8, 2014, from 5 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

 Funeral services for Mrs. Elliott will be conducted on Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at 7 p.m. from the chapel of the East Lawn Funeral Home with the Reverend Larry Ball officiating.  Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum III on Wednesday, July 9, 2014, at 11 a.m.  Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Bridwell Heights Presbyterian Church PCA or to the American Red Cross.  Online condolences, comforts meals, or floral tributes may be sent to the family by visiting www.eastlawnkingsport.com.
