Judith Shiflett (Coleman) - Class Of 1963

Judith Shiflett Coleman, 75, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, February 4, 2021.

Judy was born on June 5, 1945, in Charlottesville, Va., to the late Cecil Earl Shiflett and Lorraine Clements Shiflett. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Richard E. Shiflett; and her sister Brenda Bevilacqua.

Judy was a lifelong resident of Charlottesville and an ardent supporter of UVA, especially the men’s basketball team.

Judy was a beloved mother and grandmother. She had a deep love for all animals, especially her cats. Dr. Mahanes and Stacy at Cat Care assisted in her feline endeavors and became close friends.

She is survived by her son, Jeff Coleman and his wife Sarah and their daughter Catherine. She is also survived by her grand-dogs Georgie and Ry.

Prior to her retirement, Judy worked at the Daily Progress and later was an early employee at Worrell Investment Company, Inc. Her friends and colleagues at Worrell Investment were a treasured part of her life, as was the Worrell family.

Jeff and Sarah would also like to extend their sincerest thanks to George Swingler who helped Judy in her later years.

There will be a private family service held on Saturday, February 13, 2021, followed by a graveside committal, which all are welcome to attend at 3:00 p.m. at Riverview Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Charlottesville Albemarle SPCA at 3355 Berkmar Drive, Charlottesville, VA 22901.
