Ida Willis Davis (Defibaugh) - Class Of 1963

Ida Davis Defibaugh, age 70, of Free Union, passed away into the care of her loving God on Saturday, January 17, 2015, at her home surrounded by her family.

Born on October 1, 1944, she was a daughter of the late Jasper Price Davis Sr. and Nellie Lee Sprouse Davis. Ida was also preceeded in death by her sister, Sally Howard.

Ida was a kind-hearted woman who always cared for others. She had a fond passion for the outdoors. Ida always held poise and represented herself and family in a dignified manner, which she passed to her children. Ida will be deeply missed by her loving husband of 47 wonderful years, Jerry Wayne Defibaugh, Sr., of whom she absolutely loved taking care of; her daughters, Rhonda Bridgwater and her husband, R.G., and Martha Gangloff and her husband, Michael; her son, Jerry Wayne Defibaugh Jr. and his wife, Melody; her sisters, Betty Jarrell, Ruby Kennedy, Sue Cassell, and Mary Hoffman; her brothers, JP Davis and Charles Davis; seven grandchildren, Brittany Bridgwater, Justin Bridgwater, Jacob Bridgwater, Emily Gangloff, Alex Gangloff, Sarah Ramsey, and Christina Ramsey; her special sister, Margie Shifflett. Ida also leaves behind her feline companion Shadow.

A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at the Teague Chapel. Interment will follow at Mount Moriah Cemetery in White Hall.

The family will receive friends 6 until 8 p.m. Monday, January 19, 2015, at the funeral home.
