James Loving Stork

On Thursday, January 7, 2010, James Loving Stork left his earthly home and entered his heavenly home.

James was born in Lynchburg, Virginia, the son of the late James Edward Stork and Helen Loving Stork.

James was survived by his wife, June W. Stork; one son, James Loving Stork and his wife, Bridget, of Lebanon, Virginia; one daughter, Braylan Boyle and her husband, Michael, of Crozet, Virginia; five grandchildren, Ashlie Stork, Ashley Shortridge, Emma Lane, Anabella and Lillie Boyle.

James was a true "cowboy". He rode horses to round ups and could rope his calves. He loved choosing show cattle, fitting the calves out to show, but the best was taking them into the ring and collecting the blue ribbon. After his family, cattle were his passion. He could tell you the family pedigree on each of his animals.

Jim loved to swap stories with his buddies, Courtney Craft, Ronnie Dollins, and Roscoe Faris. They spent many an hour these past months swapping tales as fast as they got them out.

Jim was educated in Albemarle County and graduated from Albemarle High School in l962. He then went to Virginia Tech where he graduated in 1968.

Jim loved to write and often wrote several letters to the Editor at the Daily Progress. He wrote poems to his friends and co-workers at University of Virginia, especially when Virginia Tech/University of Virginia football games came around.

Jim's family would like to thank the Hospice of the Piedmont for their dedicated service to him.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Hospice of Piedmont, 675 Peter Jefferson Parkway, Suite 300, Charlottesville, VA 22911.

The family will receive friends at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel in Crozet, Virginia, from 4 until 6 p.m. Sunday, January 10, 2010.

A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Monday, January 11, 2010, at Amherst Cemetery in Amherst, Virginia, with Doctor Glenn Holman of First Presbyterian Church in Waynesboro, Virginia, officiating.

Anderson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

The members and supporters of the Albemarle High School Alumni Association were very sorry to hear about James Stork's passing.  It is always sad to lose a member of the Albemarle family, and we offer our condolences to his family and friends.
