After graduating from Albemarle HS in 1961, I joined the Air Force and served 5 years including 3 years in Germany and Berlin. Then I came to Memphi, TN and became a City of Memphis Firefighter and retired in 1995. During this time I also joined the TN Air National Guard and also drove an 18 wheeler. I drove the truck for Kimberly Clark for 18 years and 29 years altogether part time.
I retired from the Air Force here at the 164th Air Wing when I turned 60 on April 1st, 2003.
I have had a great life and I enjoy each and every day.
I just attended my Batesville Elementary School reunion on May 5th. It was a wonderful reunion and we had around 65 folks altogether. I was honored to see and talk to Mr Ben Hurt who attened the reunion. He is a remarkable man and represents honor, intetrity, and compassion.
