Peggy Ann Evans Thomas, 62, of Palmyra, died Saturday, March 18, 2006, at her home.

Born in Albemarle County on September 22, 1943, she was the daughter of the late John W. and Christine Sprouse Evans.

Mrs. Thomas was a member of St. John The Baptist Episcopal Church where she had served on the Vestry and was a member of the E.C.W.

Mrs. Thomas was a bank teller with First Virginia Bank and was an avid birdwatcher.

She is survived by her husband, Robert l. "Bobby" Thomas Sr., of Palmyra; one daughter, Tracey Thomas McFarlane and her husband Eric, of Palmya; one son, Robert "Robbie" Thomas Jr. and his wife, Julia, of Stafford; two brothers, Paul Mason Evans of Illinois, and John Phillip Evans of Esmont; three granchildren, Trey Thomas and Randi Thomas, both of Stafford and Lindsay Ann McFarlane of Palmyra.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m,. Tuesday, March 21, 2006, at St. John The Baptist Episcopal Church, Ivy, with Reverend Kathleen Sturges officiating. Interment will follow in the churchyard.

The family will receive friends 7 to 8 p.m., Monday, March 20, 2006, at the Teague Funeral Home.

The family suggests that memorials be made to St. John The Baptist Episcopal Church Sunday School.
