Rachel Lawson Coleman, 74, of Charlottesville, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 29, 2015.

She was born on November 7, 1940, in Albemarle County, to the late Doc Howard Lawson and Lillian Anna Collier Lawson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 22 years, Charles Dabney Coleman, and by her brother Sherman H. Lawson.

She is survived by her sons, Jeffrey H. Coleman and his wife, Amy and their children, Leah and Tyler Coleman; and Kevin S. Coleman and his wife, Tracy.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, October 2, 2015, at Holly Memorial Gardens with Mr. Stan Martin of Cherry Avenue Christian Church, where she was a member, officiating.

Her family extends thanks to the many dear friends for their love and support, especially Gloria Baber and Sue Humphrey.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Cherry Avenue Christian Church Building Fund at 1720 Cherry Ave, Charlottesville, VA 22903.
