Jean Ellen Gibson Fisher, 68, of Greenwood, died Sunday, April 19, 2009, at a local hospital.

She was born on February 4, 1941, in Albemarle County, the daughter of the late Grover Cleveland Gibson and Lara Hazel Parr Gibson. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Grover Gibson.

She is survived by her husband, Forrest F. Fisher Sr.; one son, Forrest F. Fisher Jr. and his wife, Lisa; step-daughter, Janet F. Dickie and her husband, Alan; three sisters, Libby Critzer and her husband, Calvin, of Crozet, Joyce Gouchener of Crimora, and Lois Gutshaw of Charlottesville; sister-in-law, Phyllis Spanaugle and her husband, Roscoe; three grandchildren, Richard E. Anderson, Tamra D. Fisher, Terri L. Fisher; a number of nieces and nephews, Sandy, Carlin, Kendall, Mike, Ricky, Travis, Gary, Brian, Lori, Misty, Shane, and Lee; numerous grand nieces and nephews, and many special friends, Lucille and EB, Keith and Sheila, Fuzzy, Kate, Deanna, Marty, and Brenda Gibson.

She was retired from Con-Agra, Stromberg Carlson and Mailing Services of Virginia.

A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 22, 2009, at Rockgate Cemetery with the Reverend David Collyer officiating.
