Jeanette Dowell Davis, 78, passed away peacefully at Rockingham Memorial Hospital on April 18, 2019. She spent her last 8 months living at Bridgewater Retirement Community Center on the "Unity House" nursing floor, where they cared for her beautifully with much care and dignity.

Jeanette was born on December 12, 1940, to Eppie and Grace Dowell and lived most of her life in the Stony Point Community.

A beloved wife of the late Woody Davis, Jeanette leaves behind her loving and grateful daughters and husbands, Ginger and Jeff Ange, Mary and David Hensley, Becky and Josh Smith, and Val and Paul Race.

Lovingly known as "Granny," Jeanette leaves behind adoring grandchildren, (Ginger) Lauren Ange and Lindsay Ellis, (Mary) Crystal and Amber Hensley, (Becky) Donald Highlander, Sherry Drumheller, and Christopher and William Gibson, and (Val) Brittany, Andrew and Alex Frazier and Shelby Race. With these, there are many spouses and significant others Granny loved and appreciated. Jeanette was very blessed to have a great-grandchild, (Ginger/Lindsay) Charlotte Ellis who lived to see, meet, hold and love, and from Becky's children nine more great-grandchildren who sadly she did not get to meet.

Jeanette leaves behind siblings whom she loved: Clara Shifflette, Pauline Coleman, and Mary Lou Byers who also lives at BRCC, and three brothers, Warren, Jimmy, and Bryant Dowell. She has so many extended family members and friends and she wants all of us to know we were all dear and loved by her.

Funeral services will be held at Teague Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 23, 2019, starting with family visitation at 11 a.m., service at 12 p.m., and a final gravesite farewell at 1 p.m. at Holly Memorial Gardens.

Jeanette was a life long member of Piedmont Christian Church, and she loved serving God and her family there.
