Shelby Jean Wheeler (Sandridge) - Class Of 1958


Shelby Jean Sandridge, 72, died at a local hospital on Sunday, July 15, 2012.

She was born on July 6, 1940, in Albemarle County, to the late Raymond Wheeler and Josephine Wheeler. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Forrest Gordon Sandridge.

She is survived by one daughter, Patricia Dawn Elledge and husband, Dennis, of Crozet, Virginia; two sons, David Sandridge and his wife, Elizabeth, of Louisa, Virginia, Keith Sandridge and his wife, Barbara Sue, of Crozet, Virginia; one sister, Patricia Patterson and husband, Roger, of Crozet, Virginia; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Shelby was a LPN at the Martha Jefferson Hospital and worked fifty years in the nursing field. She dedicated her life for taking care of others and her beloved pets. She was a member of the Crozet Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends at the Anderson Funeral Home from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 17, 2012. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 18, 2012, at the Crozet Baptist Church with the Reverend Colleen Swingle-Titus officiating. Interment will follow at the Rockgate Cemetery in Crozet, Virginia.

Anderson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Charles "Connie" Crenshaw (1958)

It is always sad to lose a classmate and an Albemarle High School Patriot.  Our thoughts and prayers are with Shelby's family.
