Alvin Watson - Class Of 1958

Alvin Watson, 81, of Gordonsville, died on Friday, December 25, 2020.

Born November 28, 1939, he was the 16th of 17 siblings born to the late, Simon Frank Watson and Cora Rodgers Watson. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Sandra Tebo Watson. Mr. Watson served in The United States Marine Corps from 1959 to 1963. He was a logger for 50 years and a talented carpenter. His passions were owning antique cars and collecting civil war artifacts. He was a civil war enthusiast.

He is survived by his children, Pamela Watson, Glenn Watson (Gail), Laura Watson (Merv), Jonathan Watson, Michelle Watson; surviving siblings, Elsie Clatterburg (Charlie), Lawrence Watson (Virginia); three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; his current wife, Gloria Crawford Watson; best friends, Clyde Lynch, Paul Blincoe, John Fisk, Butch Brown and Larry Alger.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 31, 2020, at Maplewood Cemetery in Gordonsville with Pastor Terry Jewell officiating.

Charles "Connie" Crenshaw (1958)

It is always tough to lose a classmate. Alvin has been a regular at of the Albemarle High School Class of 1958.reunions. Alvin was never one to make a not of noise, very serious and to the point. We played with many of us class of 1958 on the Albemarle High School Patriot football team. He was a valuable on the line on the first under defeated team in 1957..
