Samuel Patteson Clarke (1966)
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, James Albert Sprouse Sr.; her parents, Oreta Virginia Moon Wood and Willard Coles Wood Sr.; and a brother, Alfred B. Wood.
Survivors include her three children, Robin V. Farley and her friend, Robert Boland, Debra S. Rasnake and her husband, Jeffrey, and James A. Sprouse and his wife, Jennifer; 2 brothers, Willard C. "Jimmy" Wood Jr. and his wife, Edith, and Edward S. "Eddie" Wood Sr. and his wife, Nancy; eight grandchildren, Darrell (Gene) Farley Jr., Matthew Farley, Andrew Farley, Brian Farley, Jeffrey Rasnake Jr., Daniel Rasnake, Carleigh Sprouse and Joshua Sprouse; a special family friend, Peggy Smith; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Rosalind was a devoted wife, a stay at home mother and grandmother, who loved her family, her animals and working in her flower garden.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2007, at Thacker Brothers Funeral Home in Scottsville with the Reverend Clarke Hawkins officiating. Interment will follow at Alberene Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 7:30 Tuesday, April 10, 2007, at the funeral home.
Rosalind's family would like to thank all who stopped by to visit her during her illness and they appreciate the phone calls and those who dropped off food. Special thanks are given to Hospice of the Piedmont for their care during her final weeks.
