Gertrude Watson Roberts, 80, of Somerset, Va. passed away with her family by her side on Friday, July 14, 2017, at her home.

She was born on April 11, 1937, in Barboursville, the daughter of the late Robert Lewis Watson and Hattie Lee Gibson Watson; and wife of the late William "Bill" Gilmore Roberts.

Mrs. Roberts was a former employee of the Gordonsville Hospital and retired from the U.S. Postal Service in Orange. She was a member of the Barboursville Baptist Church and Past Bethel Guardian, Bethel # 32 Orange.

She is survived by two daughters, Sarah R. Redifer and husband, Cory, Beth Aylor and husband, Allen, all of Barboursville; two sons, William "Gil" G. Roberts and wife, Robin and Phillip M. Roberts and wife, Julia, both of Somerset; sister, Camora Herndon of Barboursville;10 grandchildren, Wesley Roberts, Meagan R. Hughes and husband, Garrett, Will Roberts, Emmet Aylor, Sid Aylor, Austin Roberts, Morgan Hommel and husband, Thomas, Hillary Bourke, Haley Redifer, and Zach Redifer; and two great-grandchildren Avery Hughes and Wyatt Hommel.

A memorial service was held 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 19, 2017, at Oak Chapel in Monford conducted by Pastor Steve Johnson. A private interment will be held at a later date.

The family received friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday evening, July 18, 2017, at Preddy Funeral Home Chapel in Gordonsville.
