Samuel Patteson Clarke (1966)
He was a loving and kind husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to all he knew. He was there with a helping hand for anyone who needed him. He lived his life well and with grace.
Born November 18, 1934, in Free Union, he was the son of the late Cecil Allen and Ora Loving Maupin.
Larry retired from Sperry Marine after 34 years of service.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanne B. Maupin; two daughters, Linda van der Linde and her companion, Jeff Bushman and Jackie Foutz and her husband, Dennis; two brothers, Kemper Maupin and his wife, Della and Milton Maupin and his wife, Terry; one sister, Hazel Powers; three grandchildren, Erin Bevacqua and her husband, Tom, Sarah Foutz and Seth Foutz; one great-grandchild, Emma Bevacqua; many nieces and nephews; and Samson, his cat.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday February 9, 2006, at Free Union Church of the Brethren with the Rev. Pat Mellott and the Rev. Charles Simmons officiating. Interment will follow in Holly Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 8, 2006, at Teague Funeral Home.
