Charles Edward "Eddie" Fix

Charles Edward "Eddie" Fix passed peacefully in his sleep at Avante at Roanoke nursing home on Sunday, August 14, 2011. He now rejoices in heaven with his beloved Mother, Daddy, and baby daughter, Kimberly Ann.

Eddie was born in Charlottesville on December 9, 1946, the son of the late Joe McFaddin Fix and Mary Elizabeth (Smith) Fix of Crozet.

Eddie attended Miller School in Batesville until transferring in his junior year to Albemarle High School. He had a varied working career which included working at Morton's Frozen Foods in Crozet, a welder at Process Engineering and Fabrications in Nelson County, and a school bus driver for Albemarle County. His last job before retiring was as a security officer at Security Associates of Waynesboro.

He is survived by his wife of thirty years, Madelon, of Crozet, Virginia; a sister, Shirley Toms of Greenwood, Virginia; and two brothers, Joe "Mac" Fix of Waynesboro, Virginia, and William "Billy" Fix and his wife, Barbara, of Wytheville, Virginia.

He leaves to cherish his memory three children, Stacey Showalter of Salem, Virginia, Charles "Chuck" Fix and his wife, Amy, of Ruckersville, Virginia, and Michelle Frazier and her husband, Anthony, of Ruckersville, Virginia. He was a beloved "Pa Pa" and "Granddaddy" to eight grandchildren, Jonathan and Samantha Deaton of Salem, Virginia, Camry Yates of Stanardsville, Virginia, Cayden, Ryan, and Ryleigh Fix of Ruckersville, Virginia, and Ryan and Kierstyn "Kitty" Frazier of Ruckersville, Virginia. He also leaves behind many wonderful friends from The Meadows in Crozet where he recently lived, especially Joan Snyder and many comrades from the Crozet Fire Department where he was a lifelong member.

There will be a graveside service 11 a.m. Friday, August 19, 2011, at Lebanon Presbyterian Church, 8312 Brooksville Road, Greenwood, Virginia, with a reception following at the Crozet Volunteer Fire Department, 5652 Three Notch'D Road, Crozet, Virginia.
