Wilbert Eugene Breeden - Class Of 1967

Wilbert E. Breeden, 75, of Greene County, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, January 27, 2023. Wilbert was a native of Earlysville, Virginia. He was born on September 16, 1947, to the late Jessie and Sally Breeden. He is preceded in death by his son, Gene Breeden, grandson, Dustin Breeden, step-son, Robbie Laverty, and brother, Melvin Breeden.

Wilbert is survived by his devoted wife, Susan of 35 years. His son, Jason Breeden, and grandson, Trevor, their families and Dustin’s children. Wilbert shared a very close relationship with his brother, Pete Breeden (Jessica), sister, Audrey Breeden, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Sandra and George Stephens and their children. His numerous nieces and nephews always lovingly enjoyed being picked on by Uncle Wilbert.

Wilbert served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Nuremburg Germany. Wilbert retired from Sprint Telephone Company as a cable splicer after many years of dedicated service. He was a member of Elks 389. He enjoyed collecting old knives, watching the old western shows, playing poker, bird watching and camping and fishing at New Point Campground in Gloucester, Virginia.

At Wilbert’s request there will not be a formal service but a Celebration of Life at the Elks Lodge 389 on Saturday, February 18, 2023 from 2 to 4 pm. All are welcome to attend.
